Author Guidelines

SPRJ publishes high-quality peer-reviewed original articles that are not under review in any other academic outlet. Before submitting your paper for review make sure that it follows the Journal’s established guidelines.

Word Limit

Articles should be between 7000 – 10,000 words long including endnotes and references.

Preparing the Paper

All articles should be written in English. Articles should be typed in Times New Roman, 12 pt and be double spaced throughout including endnotes and references.

Articles should have an abstract of 200-250 words long and 3-6 keywords at the end of the abstract.

The cover page of the article should include the name of the author, academic title, institution affiliation, and a short bibliographical note on the author.

We strongly advise authors not to refer to themselves by name in the text of their article so that the review process can be undertaken fully anonymously.

References

The ‘APA Style 7th Edition’ references system should be used for bibliographical references in the text and notes.

Peer Review Process

The initial appraisal of each manuscript is made by the Editors. In case the topic, treatment and geographical focus fit to journal’s aims and objectives, the anonymized manuscript is assigned to peer-reviewers.

Once the reviewers have made a determination, i.e. acceptance, revision, or rejection of your manuscript, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision.

We apply a double-blind peer review, meaning that the author’s name and affiliation are not made public to the referee. The referee’s name and affiliation are also not revealed to the author.

Review requests are sent to peers that are qualified to assess the works in terms of the relevance of their thematic, theoretical, methodological, and/or geographic expertise. A rejection based on the outcome of a review process will be backed up by the actual reviews.

A decision on the manuscript generally may be expected within 5-7 weeks of submission, although delays in obtaining reviews may prolong this process. Manuscripts are sent out for review electronically, and all correspondence takes place via e-mail. If reviewers recommend revision of the manuscript, authors are requested to resubmit their revisions within 5 weeks after receiving the notification. They are asked to then also submit a letter  (as attachment to the notify editor e-mail) with a detailed description of how they have responded to the separate issues raised by the reviewers.

You may submit your work through the website or the email: info@sprjournal.com

Use of GenAI by authors

SPRJ recognizes the rapid development of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools and their increasing use in academic research and publishing.

Authors may use GenAI tools only as supportive aids, such as for improving grammar, spelling, and language clarity, formatting assistance, summarizing text for internal drafting purposes, enhancing readability or structure without altering scientific meaning.

GenAI tools must not be used to generate original research data, results, or analyses, fabricate or manipulate data, references, citations, or sources, replace critical intellectual contributions, scientific reasoning, or interpretation, produce entire manuscripts or substantial sections without human authorship.

GenAI tools cannot be listed as authors under any circumstances.

Authors are required to explicitly disclose the use of any GenAI or AI-assisted tools during manuscript preparation. Disclosure must include the name of the tool(s) used, the purpose of use (e.g., language editing, drafting assistance), confirmation that authors retain full responsibility for the content

This disclosure should appear in a dedicated “AI Use Statement” or “Acknowledgments” section of the manuscript.

If undisclosed or unethical use of GenAI is suspected, SPRJ reserves the right to reject manuscripts, retract published articles and notify authors’ institutions, when necessary.
